Indian-backed cellco Airtel has extended its 3G network to the cities of Abeche and Mondou, local news portal Journal du Tchad writes. The most recent launch took place in Mondou on 28 March, to coincide with the start of a new ICT training programme initiated by Airtel for 1,500 young Chadians. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Airtel activated the nation’s first 3G network in N’Djamena in September 2014, just five months after receiving its concession.
