A Police African Students Co-Ordination Committee (PASCC) will be formed.
The Bangalore city police have organised a coordination meeting with South African nations students for the first time in the city on Sunday after few of them attacked by the locals recently.
Additional Commissioner of Police (East) P Harishekaran will lead meeting at CMR School Conference Hall at Kacharakanahalli in East Bangalore. A Police African Students Co-Ordination Committee (PASCC) will form in the meeting to maintain better relationship between the local Bangaloreans and South African Nationals.
“We expect more than 500 students from South Africa nations studying various courses in the city colleges. The students staying in Banasawadi, KG Halli, Ramamurthy Nagar, Byappanahalli, Nagavara, Hegde Nagar and other places in east Bangalore were intimated through their college management and they will participate in the meeting,” Harishekaran told The Indian Express.
He added that recently few incidents reported that South African nationals were attacked by the locals. It creates law and order problem in the area. The police are going to hold coordination meeting to prevent such incidents in future.
“We are going to teach about the Indian laws, Foreigners registration process and rules related to this matter to the participants. They should aware about the local laws. We request them to cooperate to maintain peace and law in the city,” Harishekaran added.
The students from South African nations, concerned college principals, representatives from NGO’s and the public can attend in the meeting to share their view in the matter.
Recently, in March first week four Ivory Coast students were chased and attacked by the locals at Kothanur area in East Bangalore. The police were registered a case and arrested nine locals for attacked Africans.
