Andriamangaritra's ancient city 25/11/2013 | 17:23:02
By 1725 a.c. the city of Antsahadinta was founded by a certain Archlord Andriamangaritra. Still the remains of this city bears the tracks of long fainted away past
Antsahadinta has actually much more to offer than the Malagasy central highlands' typical rural landscape. Standing a little more than 13 miles away in the West from the capital city, Antsahadinta is one of the 12 Sacred Hills to the Imerina Kingdom, one of the twelve pillars which used to protect the Great Isle's unification starting point. A local association spares no effort to restore the remaining tracks of the past on Antsahadinta; the ancient royal corral, some graves of the royal dynasty who once called this realm theirs... A large part of history can be conclusively retraced through these remains. For example, in Antsahadinta was buried Rabodozafimanjaka, once wife to King Andrianampoinimerina, who united the Imerina under his rule. She was told to have betrayed her lord, and poisoned as a consequence.
A wide and easy road leads straight away to the Hill of Antsahadinta, and of course to a superb vantage point over the heights of Antananarivo city and its wide plains
