As opposition members continue to gather at Jinja Road Police Station and Kiira Road Police where Dr. Kizza Besigye and Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago are being held, Police have said that the duo will be produced in court today afternoon.
Tension remains high at both Jinja Road Police and Kiira Road Police Stations with opposition members pitching camp there and vowing not to leave until Besigye and Lukwago are released.
Lukwago and Besigye were separately arrested this week on Tuesday over inciting violence and disobeying lawful orders.
Police deputy Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango told New Vision that by the end of the day, Besigye and Lukwago would have been arraigned in court.
“They will certainly be produced in court by close of business today,” he said.
Police said that they will be charged under the recently passed Public Order and Management Act.
