The issues related to maternal and infant mortality, infectious and chronic diseases must be among the main priorities of the national health development plan, said Friday in Luanda the chairperson of Association of Physicians, Carlos Pinto de Sousa.
The official was speaking on the sidelines of the 23rd Consultative Council of Health Ministry.
He called for the need to continue lowering the maternal and infant mortality rates, considering fundamental the specialties of gynecology, obstetrics, pediatrics, surgery and public health as weel as cardiology and oncology.
According to the chairperson, the humanisation of health services should awaken the medical professional about the importance of a relationship of trust between doctor and patient, helping him in a speedy recovery of his health.
He said that the country has around 3,567 practitioners on association, a rate of two per 10 thousand inhabitants.
The event is set to end Saturday.
