U.S. Slowly Trains Libyan Troops

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has begun training the first

Libyan soldiers.

Officials said the U.S. military hosting scores of Libyan cadets as part

a campaign to modernize the North African armed forces. They said the

Libyans were attending courses in military education in an effort to form a

Western-inspired command in Tripoli.
