Police chiefs from 54 African countries are expected to attend the international meeting to be held today in Kampala to fast track the formation of a continental police.
The meeting will be co-chaired by Uganda and Algeria.
The meeting will open with Adhoc committee meeting, comprising of chairpersons of five regional police bodies on the continent–the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO); South African Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (SARPCCO); Central African Police Chiefs' Committee (CAPCCO); West African Police Chiefs Committee (WAPCCO) and North Africa.
After the meeting the police chiefs will stay behind for the police centenary celebrations to be held on Friday.
