Angola: Road Accidents Claim Over 200 Lives

Cuito — At least 261 people died and 1.349 were wounded as results of 1.210 road accidents recorded in central Bie province from January until now.


The information was released on Sunday, in Cuito city by the second provincial commander of the National Police, Sub- Commissioner Filomeno Araújo "Menucho", while speaking at the provincial ceremony of World Day of Remembrance for Road Accident Victims.


Filomeno Araújo "Menucho" stressed that among the accidents recorded, are car crash between vehicles and bicycles with and without motors, collisions between vehicles, rollover, skidding, shocks to fixed obstacles, among others.


The sub- Commissioner Filomeno Araújo said that accidents caused material damages estimated at 58.4 million Kwanza.
