Newly appointed Ghana coach Avram Grant says he is ready to lead the Black Stars succeed at the 2015 African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
Ghana have been locked in a tricky group C comprising West African neighbours Senegal, South Africa and Africa’s best ranked team Algeria.
The group which is made up of power houses in African football has been tagged as the “Group of Death” by many football enthusiasts.
Although Grant admits the tough challenge his side will face in the competition, he is optimistic about the team’s chances of prevailing at the continents football event.
The former Chelsea boss who has been a keen follower of the competition believes his wide range of knowledge about the tournament will help him achieve success with the team at Equatorial Guinea 2015.
“When we go to the AFCON, as a coach I want us to win games and we will win games and will see what will happen. But we will do our best at the tournament,” he told Ghanafa.org.
“I follow the African Cup because I’ve had players playing in it in some of the Clubs I’ve managed like Michael Essien. So I have followed the last four editions closely”.
Winning the 2015 African Cup of Nations will serve as a major boost for the astute football manager ahead of his two-year stint with the Black Stars.
The Black Stars are chasing their fifth African Cup of Nations title since they last won it in 1982.
