MALABO - Christian Atsu has scored two goals as Ghana beat 10-man Guinea 3-0 at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations to reach the tournament's semi-finals for the fifth straight time.
Atsu sandwiched his goals in the fourth and 61st minutes on Sunday around a score by Kwesi Appiah in the 44th minute for the Black Stars, who will play hosts Equatorial Guinea in the semis on Thursday.
Guinea keeper Naby Yattara was sent off with a red card four minutes into stoppage time.
While Ghana won Group C, Guinea reached the quarter-finals via the drawing of lots after they were even with Mali after group play.
Ghana, whose fourth title dates back to 1982, grabbed the lead after just four minutes. Andre Ayew sent a backheel across the face of the goal to Atsu, who easily turned the ball in for the early lead.
The Black Stars were not overwhelming but doubled the advantage a minute before the break after an error by the Guinea backline.
Djibril Paye played the ball back to Baissama Sankoh but the centre back mis-hit his clearance right into the path of Appiah, who slipped it under Yattara.
Atsu finished off Guinea with his second goal in the 61st minute.
The Everton winger collected the ball in the right side, cut inside and unleashed a bending, dipping left footer just over the reach of Yattara.
Guinea finished the match with 10 men as keeper Yattara was red-carded for his attack just outside the box on Asamoah Gyan.
Meanwhile Wilfried Bony scored with two headers on Sunday to help give the Ivory Coast a 3-1 win over Algeria and a spot in the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations.
Bony nodded in a cross from Max Gradel in the 26th minute after being left completely alone at the far post in the quarter-final held in the Equatorial Guinea city of Malabo.
The Manchester City forward scored another in the 68th, heading in a free kick taken by club teammate Yaya Toure. Gervinho added a third in injury time as the Algerians pushed forward in a desperate attempt to equalize.
Hilal Soudani scored Algeria's goal in the 51st, taking a pass from Riyad Mahrez that trickled through a weak Ivory Coast defense and beating goalkeeper Sylvain Gbohouo.
