Ugandan music star Jose Chameleone has just put ink to paper on a one-year endorsement deal with iDroid USA, an international mobile gadgets manufacturer.
It is not yet clear how much the deal is worth but Chameloene signed on to publicise the brand’s gadgets as a high profile brand ambassador in Africa.
Joe Qureshi, the company’s Chief Marketing Officer notes “Chameleone will not only be a major draw to our brand in Uganda but also bring the extra appeal of being famous across Africa, who might also help boost sales elsewhere.”
“ He (Chameleone), is a voice that is recognized throughout the continent. We would not be wrong if we call him the voice of Africa. The company offers him profound gratitude for becoming part of our brand.”
So, in the coming days, you will see Jose Chameleone on billboards in the streets of Kampala Uganda, TV commercials and on internet along with iDroid smartphones.
The search for a big name to endorse its band took iDroid about a month.
iDroid, which mainly produces smartphones and tablets, hopes to increase its market share in the Ugandan market for such items.
