By Virginia KhunguniImagine a 11 year old girl Malawian child being repeatedly raped by a 45 year old man. A month later the girl is discovered to have gonorrhoea and after the truth unfolds police arrests the man.
But he is then given bail after pleading with the police that he is on antiretroviral drugs (ARVs).
Months later the poor little girl is diagnosed HIV and her rapists is nowhere to be found. This is a girl who is just 11 years old and lives at some remote area in Chikwawa.
At The same time this is also happening to a 15 year old orphan who gets raped by some 3 men in Mulanje.
Months later she is also diagnosed with HIV. Seriously do you think this is what girls deserves in Malawi? I have met these girls and a lot more with similar stories.
What if your daughter or your little sister is next? If you feel for our Little innocent girls and women then I challenge you to rise up, come on 14 February to Nandos in Blantyre and call for an end to this inhuman abuse.
Malawi Dzuka!!!!!!, This our time to end violence against women and girls.
