ANOTHER Dedicated Teacher, I don't want to name the school. They will know who they are. Unfortunately many schools are exploiting teachers in governing body posts and they hold us over a barrel. At the end of the day, it's actually our inept Education Department who started this rot. They sit with inflated salaries, do not pay teachers who should be paid while we are educating the nation's future, earning a wage where I wonder if I actually have sufficient money for fuel for my car, let alone rent, groceries, smart "teaching" clothes, etc.

CONGRATULATIONS to Capt Renate Barnard and the enlightened ruling that hopefully will be a turning point and precedent for better things to come. Affirmative action likewise can also become a xenophobic, nepotistic response, in spite of the high levels of violent crime and white collar corruption, to not having the best man for the job. Here one is also having to compromise with mediocre political association where all talk and little action is the order coupled with escalating poverty and no future.

LICENCE renewal: definitely Kirkwood's the place. I took my spouse last week. They open at 8am. By 8.40 we were on our way back to PE. That afternoon my wife told me she had misplaced her receipt which was her proof of payment till her licence arrived. Phoned the traffic department and a young woman asked for a fax number and sent a copy. Do you think that would be done by the PE traffic department? Don't think so. Thank you, Kirkwood traffic department.

WAITED for Fig Tree post office to open at 8.30am and was second in the queue. One counter staff member on duty, but plenty of others ambling back and forth. Was seen at 9am with 11 other poor souls waiting. Some left. Isn't the customer most important? This is a shocking example of so-called service.
