Ethiopian Airlines flight ET702 has reportedly been hijacked, according to AirlineReporter.com, an industry news blog. The plane is currently on the ground in Geneva.
The Boeing 767-300 flight from Addis Ababa to Rome was flying over Sudan when it signaled a hijacking, the report says.
It later landed in Geneva Airport. Unconfirmed reports say the pilots have escaped from the plane.
The international airport is said to be closed. Negotiations with the hijackers are believed to be underway.
RIA Novosti cites an airport spokesman as saying that an emergency occurred on board ET702.
