Cape Town - The Springbok Sevens side lost 10-7 to Australia in their final group match at the Hong Kong Sevens on Saturday.

Tries by Greg Jeloudev and Ed Jenkins put the Aussies up 10-0 at the break.

The Blitzbokke hit back late in the second half when Seabelo Senatla scored. After Kwagga Smith's conversion there was time for one more passage of play, but Australia held on to win Pool B.

Earlier wins (22-14 over Spain and 31-7 against France) mean the South Africans will still qualify for the Cup competition as group runners up.

South Africa will face England in their Cup quarter-final clash on Sunday (05:50 SA time).
