BRAZZAVILLE, March 6 (Bernama) -- More than 10 people died and their property destroyed after torrential rain hit the Republic of Congo's major cities of Brazzaville and Pointe Noire in the last two days.
Eyewitnesses told Xinhua news agency that at least 10 people were killed after their houses were destroyed by landslides or swept away by flood waters between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
By Wednesday evening, fire fighters in Brazzaville's Massengo region were still going through rubble of houses in search of survivors.
A source from Congo's commercial capital Pointe Noire said heavy rains had resulted in some deaths in the town.
