Addis Ababa, 2 January 2014 (WIC) - The US-based Ethiopian engineers expressed their desire to contribute their share in the road safety and transportation sector in their home land.
US-based Ethiopian engineers, the Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) the Addis Ababa Institute of Technology (AAiT) held a tripartite symposium on transport and road sectors at Hilton Hotel on December 30, 2014.
ERA Communication Director, Samson Wondimu told WIC that Ethiopian engineers on the occasion spoken about their demand to do their part and share experience on transportation and road safety.
The symposium has created good opportunities to create a link between local experts and engineers to work together and share their experiences, Samson pointed out.
During the symposium, the Ethiopian engineers pledged to organize similar symposiums in the future, he added.
Research papers on transport project management, value and implementation of engineering and road safety were presented by scholars at the event, according to Samson.
Present at the symposium were representatives from the Ministry of Transport, Ethiopian Roads Authority, Ethiopian Engineers Association and various universities.
