The eSolutions Consulting, an information and technology (IT) consulting firm, has introduced an electronic platform that makes it possible for employees to work fully for their employers from anywhere without necessarily being physically present at the workplaces.
The virtual office is the result of the integration of eSolutions' IT products, which makes it possible for information and data within a company to be accessed by all employees on a smart device. The products include the Smart Workplace, EasyDoc, Accord Corresponding Manager, Poject360, and eCase Manager.
Recently, eSolutions unveiled its range of services in Accra, where it explained that the virtual office was aimed at reducing the cost of operations within the business community, while improving employee efficiency and productivity.
A Senior Consultant at eSolutions, Mr Gabriel S. K. Dela, told the Daily Graphic after the launch that the idea of the virtual office was to make it possible for employees to work from wherever they were located, the time of the day and the nature of activity they were engaged in.
He also said the initiative was part of the many electronic solutions being professed by eSolutions to help meet the day-to-day challenges of corporate Ghana and the business community in general.
"For most of us, when you go to the office and a machine breaks down, it means work can't be done because you may not be able to access files and documents you work with; but this platform solves that challenge. With this, your work space is not tied to a particular computer or device. The virtual office gives you that platform to access that information, irrespective of the location," Mr Dela explained.
"Smart Workplace and the other solutions are meant for anyone who works. We are focused on how to transform business needs and that is what motivated the development of this solution," he added.
He also assured potential customers of the security of their files, adding that some of the files were even limited to specific staff, depending on their departments within the company.
He mentioned the Volta River Authority and the Ministry of Finance as some of the institutions currently using the solution with prospective users including the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority.
