Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto yesterday said his name was included in President Uhuru Kenyatta's graft list because he has been telling Deputy President William Ruto the truth.
He said he will not resign.
"No investigative body has ever been to Bomet to ask questions about anything. I am being hunted because I refused to toe William Ruto's line," Rutto said.
He addressed the public at a funds drive at Chebai AIC Church in Elgeyo Marakwet county.
Rutto urged church leaders to unite the Kalenjin community because URP and Ruto have failed to do so.
He accused Ruto of "putting the Kalenjin in a sack of potatoes, sealing their mouths and and sitting on them without feeling any guilt."
"Kalenjins have been in government since independence. Even the coalition government of Arap Mibei [Raila Odinga] and President Kibaki shared with us, so nobody should tell us he is doing us a favour and giving us privileges in government."
The governor said the Deputy President has never convened a URP meeting since February 2013.
He said he will never join JAP because the Kalenjin were never consulted over its formation.
Rutto said the Kalenjin joined Jubilee as equal partners and asked that the community be respected.
West Pokot Senator John Lonyangapuo, Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos and several MCAs were present.
