Idols SA Top 2 to battle it out

In tonight's penultimate Episode of Idols SA Season 9 youth was pitted against experience as Musa Sukwene and Brenden Ledwaba battled it out for one last time. The two Mpumalanga finalists sang three songs each: the producers' choice, their favourite performance of the Season and their brand new singles.

Brenden opened the show with Asa's "Jailer" and chose Rihanna's "Stay" as his best performance of the Season. "That performance of "Stay" was probably the best I have seen you perform," said Gareth. Unathi said she thought they were both handling the Top 2 pressure "very well".

Musa sang Ringo Madlingozi's "Ndiyagodola" and Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" again tonight. "You've both seen off a lot of competition but ultimately, there can only be one winner," said Randall. Unathi was glad the Judges had no more power in the show saying: "It's so difficult because it's so close and you are both so evenly powerful."

The Judges also enjoyed both singles, making any predictions for this Season's winner a difficult task for anyone.

Unathi said Brenden's new single "Fingerprints" was "catchy, funky pop but there's a big soulful element to it. I think it is an enormously successful song because it's very cross-over and it will appeal to the majority of South Africa."

She found Musa's single "I Still Feel It" refreshing. "It was so convincing that I was convinced I had heard the song before and that is the mark of a classic," she said.

There were also performances from the rest of the Top 10 Contestants and a collaboration by 1st Project, ProVerb and RJ Benjamin.

With the Judges undecided about who they think will win and huge support for both Contestants, Tuesday's Live Results Show is set to be a definite must-see.

Voting lines for both Brenden and Musa will remain open until tomorrow, 25 November at 22:00.
