JUMPING FENCES ... Hidipo Hamutenya (standing second from left) with some of the 'struggle kids' who joined RDP on Saturday at Oshakati.
Addressing a rally at Oshakati on Saturday, Hamutenya said it is time for the Swapo-led government to retire because it has failed the country and the people for so many years now.
“Give me five years to govern this country. I will show the people how Swapo has failed the people. I will develop the country. I am telling you that it is now time for the Swapo-led government to retire because it has failed the nation and the country at large. We can no longer continue on the path of Swapo, which is a path of destruction,” said Hamutenya.
Hamutenya said people should not be afraid to vote for a political party of their choice because the country was liberated by everyone and not just by Swapo.
“Do not be afraid to vote for RDP. Namibia was liberated for you. Do not believe in one party. That is unacceptable,” he said, adding that a RDP-led government will be the way to show that poverty is eradicated and corruption has become a thing of the past.
Hamuntenya said he will continue to serve in the best interest of Namibia and will work tirelessly to make sure that every Namibian child has the best future.
A RDP-led government will also make sure that youth and women, who are the majority, will take part in the country's upliftment.
We will be firm and committed as RDP for the betterment of the Namibian people. Anyone who is willing to join RDP is welcome,” he said.
He further urged the people to go out in numbers to vote during the November elections and vote for RDP. Hamutenya added that he is confident to win the Presidential elections and will become the President of Namibia next year.
Hamutenya also welcomed a group of struggle kids, who joined the party recently from various regions around the country.
On Saturday, RDP supporters came out in numbers to show their support to their presidential candidate at the rally as they marched through the streets of Oshakati and Ongwediva
The rally was mostly attended by the youth and women and no case of violence was reported.
